State Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Tony Sanders, visited the Macon-Piatt Regional Office of Education #39 today to learn more about the programs the ROE offers and the work being done to support area schools. Dr. Sanders toured the new facility and had the opportunity to meet the summer cohort of Option Three students. After visiting with ROE 39 students and staff, Dr. Sanders headed to Dennis Lab School where he was welcomed by DPS 61 Superintendent, Dr. Rochelle Clark, and taken on a walk through the halls to visit classrooms. Thank you, Dr. Sanders, for taking time to visit our region today!

A sneak peek at a few of the photos from the Milligan Academy and Futures Unlimited 4th quarter graduation ceremony. Through the ROE 39 Alternative Programs, the graduates have earned a high school diploma from their home districts. A very special thank you to the She Gave Giving Circle for the grant funds to provide caps and gowns for our graduates! Thank you to NowDecatur with Isaiah Bradford and Ahsaan Spence for the beautiful photos of the graduates and their families! Congratulations to all!

"Today, we honor and remember all the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage and selflessness will never be forgotten."
The ROE office is closed today in honor of the Memorial Day Holiday. We will reopen on Tuesday, May 28th at 8:30am

Graduation ceremonies and celebrations took place today at Milligan Academy and Futures Unlimited and pictures will follow. However, we didn't want to end the year without recognizing Jimmy Washington. Mr. Washington is the first person students see when they walk into our building, and his office is a safe haven for many. The safety of our students and staff is Mr. Washington's top priority, but he does so much more as a mentor and guide. He is selfless, caring, and dedicated to our students, supporting them through the many obstacles they have had to overcome to make it to the graduation stage. Mr. Washington, we thank you for always showing up for our students and appreciate everything you do!
