📚☀️ Our Professional Development team at the ROE has been hard at work this summer! We've had an incredible season of learning, collaboration, and growth!🌟 Some highlights from our summer PD offerings:

🔹 A 3-day SELF Academy, where participants reflected on how they lead in their day-to-day lives — both personally and professionally.
🔹 Tough Kid Training, led by Safe & Civil Schools, where educators explored strategies for understanding and supporting tough kid behaviors.
🔹 Creative PD on using LEGOs to teach across multiple subjects — bringing hands-on learning to life!
🔹 Sessions focused on the power of routines and procedures for successful classrooms.
🔹 Reflective conversations with teachers around writing instruction and best practices.

It’s been a busy and inspiring summer — and we’re excited to bring this momentum into the new school year! 🎉📅

📸 Take a peek at some of the photos from the events below — so many great moments captured!

Tough Kid Training — what an impactful experience!

Led by Jacob Edwards from Safe & Civil Schools, this training gave educators powerful strategies for understanding and supporting tough kid behaviors in the classroom. 💬📚

Jacob brought incredible expertise, insight, and practical tools that our participants found truly valuable. We’re so grateful for his guidance and energy throughout the sessions!

💥 Good news: We’re already planning to bring Jacob back next summer — so stay tuned for more details!

Chad Ramey is our ROE #39 Health, Life & Safety Inspector and Truancy Officer. He inspects all 55 school buildings in Macon and Piatt Counties each year, working closely with district staff to ensure our buildings are safe. Chad also collaborates with districts and their architects on new building projects, coordinating the necessary paperwork for building and occupancy permits.

In addition to all of this, Chad supports our truancy department, working with families and students to remove barriers that prevent regular school attendance. He’s a humble guy, but he truly deserves recognition for his behind-the-scenes work. We want to thank Chad for everything he does… and yes, we even got him to smile!

Welcome to the ROE #39 Team, Shemuel “Shem” Sanders!

If you’ve been around Milligan Academy or Futures Unlimited the past few days, you may have already seen Shem in action — providing extra security, mentoring students, and bringing positive energy everywhere he goes.

Many also know Shem from his work with the Shemilah Outreach Center, where he’s made a lasting difference in the lives of youth and our community.

We’re lucky to have his friendly smile in our hallways, greeting students and lending a helping hand. Welcome, Shem — and yes, you look GREAT in red! 🔴
