The Lt. Governor and the Illinois Council of Women and Girls is launching the second year of the Girls Lead program. This is a unique job shadowing and mentor opportunity for girls in 5th-12th grade. Each girl is paired with a woman in a senior leadership role in state government. Some examples of the mentors include General Assemblywoman, Chiefs of Staff, and Agency Directors. The goal is for girls to learn about a possible career path and the vast opportunities within state government. Throughout the program, there will be other opportunities as well for girls to gain valuable skills and learn about leadership. The program is tailored based upon the grade level. Please see the attached flyer for more information and feel free to share! We want to ensure every girl in Illinois can apply to the program. (PLEASE NOTE: The deadline to apply has been extended to October 27th.)
